We’ve been looking into all the best resources for supporting young children when learning about our world this week! Have a read of all our favourite Geography resources here. One of the resources we particularly loved was this Primary World Explorer Rectangular Carpet by Early Year Resources.

This bright coloured, super soft, durable, huge (2x3m) rug/carpet is a wonderful resource to help children learn geography whilst they play.
What did we like about it?
- Quality- What struck me the most about this, is the quality. It’s so lovely and soft to sit on, but its also durable, tough, has fray-free edges and a fantastic non-slip backing to make it stay put on solid floors (helping to avoid any trips and slips). It would make a wonderful addition to a primary classroom, nursery, preschool or large play room at home. Perfect for playing and sitting on!

- Great Way to Learn Geography– This beautiful rug/carpet is ideal for helping children to learn the names of the continents and oceans. They have cleverly colour coded each continent and have a matching key to help children learn which one is which. Each ocean is also labelled.

- Fantastic for Small World Play– As many of you who read my blog know, I’m a huge believer in learning through play. This carpet is absolutely wonderful for enriching a child’s play whilst slipping in some Geography knowledge! We’ve been loving playing dinosaurs on it, for example, discussing which continents each dinosaur may have lived in and how different the continents look now to how they did then.
