For young children who are making sense of our world, small world, Imaginative Play can be fantastic and enjoyable. 

As part of our Dinosaur Themed Week on The SEN Resources Blog we were kindly sent an Active World Tuff Tray Dinosaur Mat by TTS Group to try out on our Tuff Tray. 

What did we like about it? 

• Engaging Scene– The prehistoric scene really caught the interest of the children, with its superb detail of rivers, forests, nests and even fallen trees. There’s so much to talk about and it’s a brilliant way of developing speech, language and communication through play.

• Promotes Imaginative Play– We found the mat to be a brilliant resource for promoting Imaginative Play. The children were engrossed in their pretend ‘dinosaur world’, moving their toy dinosaurs across the landscape and interacting with other toy dinosaurs. 

• Easy– I love Tuff trays, but when you look on Pinterest and Instagram and see photos of mums and teachers creating amazing Tuff Tray scenes for kids- it can feel a bit daunting. Especially if you’re not creative or simply don’t have the time! That’s why this mat is fantastic, it creates a brilliant tuff tray scene without any effort!
