I’m a big fan of threading beads as a way of developing fine motor skills. And I particularly love these jumbo wooden beads by Toys of Wood Oxford. 

My stars (aspects I liked): 

• The beads are great- they are chunky so easy to hold and they are brightly coloured to appeal to kids. 

• Not only do they help children develop their fine motor skills but because of the differences in the beads they can also be used to aid the learning of numbers, words, shapes, colours and the alphabet. 
• We also discovered many games can be played with these beads. Such as making sentences up with the pictures, making tall towers, grouping the beads into their picture categories (e.g fruit, transport, sea life)
