We’ve been reading Starman and Me (by Sharon Cohen), an exciting, children’s sci-fi book that had us gripped from the very first page.
What did we like about it?
- Intriguing- This book is a definite ‘page turner’. Right from the moment Kofi spots something at the roundabout, our curiosity was sparked.
- Promotes Science- we loved that this book was packed full of science including DNA and ICT.
- Importance of friendship and team work- The theme running throughout this book is one of the value of working together and of being loyal to the people you care about. An essential lesson for children.
- Thought provoking- this book gets children thinking, enquiring and questioning! What does it mean to be human? Where are we from? What will the future hold for human kind?
