Learning the alphabet is a vital stage in learning to read and write. It is therefore imperative that it is learnt in an engaging and fun way.
That’s why I enjoyed using this wooden alphabet puzzle to help teach children the alphabet.
- It’s colourful, chunky and of a high quality- making it appealing to kids.
- Not only does the child fit the shape of the letter onto the board, but as they are of matching colours- the child is simultaneously reinforcing their knowledge of colours and using problem solving skills.
- Each alphabet space on the board has a corrrsponding picture and word beginning with that letter- helping to further develop their use of the alphabet. This also helps children relate the alphabet to its use in reading and writing words.
