This week we discovered the most amazing magazine! Have you read it? It’s called Creative Steps Magazine and its bursting full of absolutely brilliant children’s craft activities. I was in awe at how many there were! Plenty to keep your kids busy. It’s also really educational!
Creative Step’s Magazine have kindly said we can giveaway a subscription to their magazine for a whole year (!) on twitter! So head over to our twitter page here to enter (full terms and conditions apply, please read them here)
What did we like about Creative Steps Magazine?
- Sheer volume of crafts! Honestly, I literally couldn’t believe how many crafts activities they had. So many wonderful craft ideas that were easy to do and used resources that you’re likely to have at home (cardboard boxes, egg cartons etc) We had so much fun trying them out. A lot of them are themed as well, and have a few choices to match that theme – which really helps when you have siblings arguing (I mean discussing!) which activity they want to do!
- Activities to learn through play– As you know I’m a huge believer in the importance of learning through play, I’m even writing a book about it at the moment, so I was thrilled to see that the learning activities in this magazine also adopted this philosophy. The learning games looked fun and tempting for kids! For example, in the latest Summer edition there’s some fabulous number games to reinforce counting skills and number recognition.
- Book recommendations– Theres a few lovely sections in the magazine dedicated to recommending children’s books, either through reviews or interviews with authors. I loved getting some recommendations of some books to buy or get from the library, for the kids.
- Educational– The children learnt lots from these magazines and not just through the learning games, there’s interesting pages about people in history for example, that you can read and teach your child about.
