Thursday Challenge! Magic tricks and Poems #SENRESOURCESSUMMER

We’re now on day 4 of our #SENRESOURCESSUMMER Summer Holidays Club! Where each week we are having a new theme (this week its castles) and sharing ideas of activities you can do with your children over the summer. 

Today we have two challenges based around our theme of Castles and Magic:

Challenge 1: Magic Tricks

Challenge 2: Castle Poem

Challenge 1: Magic Tricks

Encourage your children to try and make their own magic trick up! Maybe they could do a show for family or friends. Theres some fantastic ones for kids on Youtube Here to copy! All of the ones on this video are achievable and look really fun to try out. The coin one in particular is great!

 

Challenge 2: Create a Castle Poem or Song

Look at some photos of castles together, maybe listen to some music about castles and think of the words that you can use to describe a castle.

A simple way to write a poem is an acrostic, write the word CASTLE down vertically like so

and encourage them to come up with either a sentence or a word starting with each letter for that line!
